Blogger to be

I'm really not much of an online blogger, I don't usually have the time (or the patience) for actually sitting down and creating a page. I probably would have time, except my perfectionism tends to kick in, and I end up spending an inordinate amount of time setting it up and tweaking the layout. By the time I'm halfway through, I usually walk away.

Not this time.

I've been considering starting a pregnancy blog for a few weeks now. A few people have suggested it, and I've decided to give it a go. After all, this is an awfully exciting thing to write about!

Baby news

~Baby is 14 weeks along (3 months). This means (Que Fiesta party music) we have entered into the SECOND trimester! Now is about the time our little Sea Monkey will REALLY start growing. She (or he) is looking less monkey-like at this point and more and more baby-like (I hope, lol).
~According to "What to Expect When you're Expecting" baby is about the size of a lemon right now. How cute is that?
~We had our first ultrasound appointment last week. I have to say-even though it's completely corny sounding- that it was one of the most amazing experiences. It was awesome to see our little one squirming around.

No, we do not know the sex yet, baby barely knows what sex it is yet. LOL We are hoping to be able to find out whether Sea Monkey is a "Violet" or an "Edward" right around Thanksgiving.

Mommy news

~My energy levels are on the rise, praise God! I am so grateful that I have experienced minimal to almost nothing in the way of morning sickness, but I think I made up for it in sheer CONSTANT exhaustion. Thankfully, things are looking up and I am definitely feeling more and more perky as the days go by!
~In some ways my lack of nausea has caused, up until recently, a feeling of unreality about the baby. I've said to TJ on more than one occasion "Is it really in there? What if it just went away?" I know this sounds completely irrational, but it has been a ridiculously simple first trimester.
The ultrasound however, and the undeniable fact that my clothes are finally starting to get tighter (EEK), is keeping me pretty convinced these days. Now I am alternating between spasms of complete joy, and complete panic. Which I hear is completely normal, so I guess I'm right on track. lol
~TJ and I have been talking about our future living space a lot. There is no denying that the apartment we currently live in is way too small for a baby. The question now looms before us, do we buy a house or rent a bigger place? Renting is simpler...or is it? We have very specific needs as to what we are looking for. Not the least of which being that wherever we go, the cats WILL be coming along with us, end of story. We have decided to continue to save our money for a future down payment on a house, keep one eye out for considerable apartments, and make our final decision after the holidays. It is hard for me to wait, I don't like not knowing our future, but TJ keeps me grounded.

That is all for now, CIAO!

  1. I put you in my blog list. Funny, I was fiddling with my blog last night, and did just what you said...and ended up changing nothing. But I plan to overhaul. Yay, baby blog!
